🚗 Car Rider Line Reminder – Winkler Middle School 🚗

Student safety is our top priority at Winkler Middle School, and we appreciate your continued partnership in supporting a smooth and efficient arrival and dismissal process. The reminders below are intended to help our car rider line move safely and efficiently, minimize traffic delays, and ensure students are able to enter the building and get to class on time each day.

Traffic Pattern
Please see the map (below) for appropriate drop-off and exit procedures at Winkler. 

• Cars will loop through the PLC High School front parking lot before weaving through the Winkler parking lot.
• Please follow arrows, signage, and staff directions to help prevent traffic backup.

• Students may enter the building beginning at 8:40 a.m. Doors will be locked until that time, so students should remain in their car until staff is present.
• All students will enter through the front main doors, unless purchasing breakfast. Students purchasing breakfast will enter through the front cafeteria doors.
• If you are the first car in the next group of students to unload, pull all the way forward to the yellow line at the end of the sidewalk. Additionally, please make sure you come to a complete stop before allowing your child to exit the vehicle.
• Cars should pull all the way up to the car in front of them to allow multiple students to unload at one time.
• For safety reasons, please do not drop students off in other locations or entrances and/or parking lot.
• The tardy bell rings at 9:00.

• The dismissal traffic pattern mirrors morning arrival.
• Students are dismissed at 3:53 p.m. and will begin exiting shortly after 3:55 p.m.
• If you are the first car in the next group of students to load, pull all the way forward to the yellow line at the end of the sidewalk. Additionally, please make sure you come to a complete stop before allowing your child to enter the vehicle. 
• If you are in the car rider line while buses are dismissing, please ensure you do not to block the bus exit so buses can exit safely.
• Please remind your student to be alert, look carefully for your vehicle, and be ready to load during pick-up. Additionally, please plan to be in line to pick up your student no later than 4:15pm daily.
