PJ/Hat Day Fundraiser

One of Winkler’s 8th Grade Community Project groups will be offering a PJ/Hat Day Fundraiser opportunity for students this Friday, January 19th. Students may pay $1 to wear pajama pants or $1 to wear a hat. $2 if you would like to wear both!

 StudentSquare

This Friday, January 19th, students will have the option to sign up for StudentSquare in Homeroom classes. Please note, this is not a required action. Students wishing to sign-up for StudentSquare will need to download the StudentSquare app on their phone. This process will be shared step-by-step with those wishing to participate. If you have any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Ashley Haynes on ParentSquare or by emailing Ashley.Haynes@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.

Students will be participating in their assigned in-school clubs this Friday, January 19th.

CCS Long-Range Realignment Study

Cabarrus County Schools long-range realignment study began in May.  You have the ability to engage with CCS by visiting the new site linked HERE.  This webpage will allow our community to engage in information relating to the district realignment study. This site contains:  general information, maps, data, documents and presentations, links to Board meetings on YouTube, and a project timeline.  This site also contains a question forum for community stakeholders to ask questions to the district.

Positivity Project

This school year, Cabarrus County Schools is implementing the social-emotional learning program called Positivity Project. All students in grades K - 12 will be focusing on one skill each week.

We are excited to announce that our Spirit Rocks are ready for your colorful and creative messages! The Spirit Rocks can be used to celebrate birthdays, milestones and send inspiring messages! 

 We have Rock A: WOLF LOGO and Rock B: WELCOME WOLVES. 

 NEW for 23-24 -- Reservations run from Saturday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Saturday. $10 donation to PTSO required for each reservation.

Athletics 

Congratulations to all Winter 2 athletes! The first 7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball game of the season will be on January 22nd at Hickory Ridge Middle School. The 7th grade team will play at 4:30pm, and 8th grade will play at 5:30pm.

Mental Health Services Opt-In

A new law has gone into effect that now requires advanced consent for the delivery of non-emergency mental health services and interventions delivered by school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, and school nurses. The new law (SB 49) requires annual written notification regarding school mental health services and/or when students change schools.
